The Iowa Gold Star Futurity is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing and promoting the Arabian horse. The futurity strives to bring the best Stallions worldwide to the Midwest in order to provide an opportunity for breeders to have access to the best bloodlines possible.
The Iowa Gold Star Futurity was established in 1993 and had success for many years as a Midwest focused event. However, in 2003, a newly energized membership enhanced the vision and broadened the scope of the Futurity to reach worldwide. Hence, the level of competition at the Gold Star Futurity and the larger prize earnings potential during the show has grown immensely.
The biggest differentiator between the Iowa Gold Star and its counterparts (the MAHB Medallion Stallion Futurity and the Scottsdale Signature Stallion Futurity), is the fact that the Iowa Gold Star allows both Purebred and Partbred Stallions in the Futurity Auction. The program then provides classes where resulting foals are able to compete in the Halter “Auction” classes and re-nominated Iowa Gold Star horses compete in Halter and Performance classes offered at the Iowa Gold Star every August.
